The news is out — we’ve been presented with Eaton Smith’s Business of the Month award! Last week we went along to their offices in Huddersfield and were handed the accolade by Mike Smith — one of the law firm’s partners.

The award sets to recognise businesses throughout Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield that stand out within their fields. So, we were delighted that the judging panel considered us to be a worthy winner!

Deborah Melluish, partner at Eaton Smith and a judge for the awards said: “SB Homes submitted a very impressive application which clearly demonstrated their passion for not only their business, but also for the community in which they operate.

“Furthermore, they have developed an intelligent business strategy which meant they were able to continue operating during the downturn in the housing market. The judging panel therefore felt that SB Homes should win August’s Business of the Month Award.”

And because we won this month, it also means that we’ll be entered into the Business of the Year Award, which takes place every year in July.

Our MD Stephen commented: “We’re delighted to have been chosen as Eaton Smith’s Business of the Month. As a company, we’re committed to the areas that we develop in, and take a lot of care to create bespoke properties that have soul and character.

“We’re therefore really proud to be recognised for this approach!”

Other judges included Chris Buckley, of The Alternative Board, Stephen Wilson of UBS Wealth Management, Mid Yorkshire Chamber and the Department for International Trade (Yorkshire & Humber).
