POLL RESULTS: We reveal the favourite room in your home…

We recently shared a poll on our social pages and posed the question ‘What is the most important room in the house to you?’. Here, we share the results…

Three weeks ago we opened the doors to the show home of our current development in Huddersfield — Empire Works. Since then, many people have commented on how the finish of our houses is unrivalled by any other new properties they’ve seen.

In fact, the majority of visitors actually say ‘WOW’ as they step into each room, not being able to decide which they like more. This got us thinking — what exactly is the nation’s favourite room in a house?

We put the question to our followers on Twitter and Facebook, and gave them four options — the bedroom, kitchen, living room or bathroom.

The results? A whopping 60% of voters said that the most important room is the kitchen. The second closest answer was the bedroom at 33%, followed by living room at 7%. None of the respondents said that their bathroom was their favourite room.

So, why is the kitchen such a popular choice? We take a look…

The saying goes, ‘we are what we eat’, so is it true that ‘we are where we eat’, too?

Most of us enjoy nothing more than eating our favourite meal enjoyed with family. It’s the time when we can take a break from the stresses and strains of life and appreciate some good company.

And some of us love to cook too. It requires our full, undivided attention and so it provides us with a great way to unwind and relax.

But that’s not all. A well-planned kitchen can also be a party area when entertaining friends. We’ve all been to gatherings where everybody ends up congregating in the kitchen. It’s especially social if you can cook and chat to guests at the same time.

So, it’s fairly safe to say that the kitchen is the heart of the house.

That’s why when you’re looking for your next home, it’s important that you find a property that has a great kitchen space.

If you’re looking for a new house in Huddersfield, then why not arrange to view our show home? Our open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas are the focal area of our properties — they really are a must-see.
