Get to know our sales assistant, Olivia Smith

10th September 2019

After celebrating her one-year work anniversary, Olivia describes her dream home and answers some questions about her working and personal life...

1. Job title

Office and sales assistant.

2. How long have you worked at SB Homes?

I recently had my one-year work anniversary - I can't believe how fast this past year has flown by!

3. What does your typical week look like?

This is a difficult one to answer, purely because no two days are the same. For that matter, no two weeks are either!

Typically, I deal with any enquiries from prospective customers who are interested in the developments. This also involves meeting with them and viewing the properties they’re interested in.

I also meet with the customers that are on board, going through their choices and then liaising with the site manager and tradespeople on site, making sure they’re updated with any changes.

I’m known for being a keen organiser, so day to day I like to make sure all files are up to date and in order.

4. What do you love about your job?

My colleagues make work not really feel like work, which is a bonus! But the main thing I love about my job is that I feel there’s always new challenges, I’m always learning new skills and every day is different – which in turn means my working days go super-fast.

5. Why should someone buy an SB Homes property?

  1. Well first of all, the quality of build is like no other in the area. (Don’t just take my word for it, go have a look for yourself!)

I think a huge factor as to why I would – and why you should – buy an SB Homes property is because if you come on board early enough and buy off plan, you have almost free reign of what your house will look like. You can chop and change the layout, whether you want a living room on the ground floor and middle floor, or if you want to change the prospect three-bed plot into a two-bed property, the choice is all yours!

You also to get to choose the layout of your kitchen, the colour scheme, the tiles in your bathroom and all of your bathroom furniture – you really do get to design your dream home.

And obviously the fact that it’s a brand-new home, you have the luxury of being the first people to live in the home!

I actually live in a home that was built by SB Homes, back in 2005 and we still love it now. So, believe me when I say, you definitely should buy an SB Homes property.

6. What's your biggest achievement in work?

  1. I don’t necessarily have a ‘biggest achievement’ but I am proud of how far I’ve come within a year. I’ve never really been shy but I think that working for SB Homes has taken me out of my comfort zone as I’ve never worked in this industry before.

I think that I’ve learnt a lot from working here, both from a career and personal aspect and I hope to continue to develop and learn from the different challenges I’m faced with!

7. When you're not at work, where can we catch you?

You’ll usually catch me spending time with friends and family over drinks and food – oh and trying to fit exercise in now and again!

8. Describe your dream home

  1. I always change my mind on my dream home would be like, but I’m certain on a few things; it’d be over three storeys with a bathroom on each floor, four bedrooms, the master having a big walk-in wardrobe – having the luxury of not cramming clothes into one wardrobe would life-changing!

One of the most important rooms in the house would be the kitchen area – even though it’s my partner that enjoys cooking and not me – I’d want a large, open plan sociable kitchen/dining area so that we can have friends and family over.

As for the style of the home, I don’t really know what I would go for. Probably a ‘clean and simple’ style. Because I think if I went too bold or ‘different’ I would like it for a month and then want to change it.

9. Where would you like to see SB Homes in ten years?

Continuing to grow and develop more quality new-build homes like they have done for the past 20+ years!
